A Coachella Dream Elopement
I need to start by saying that no, Chris and I didn’t get married. We’re still planning our dream Santorini wedding for Spring 2020.
But we do play dress-up all the time. For a little while last year, we were seriously considering having a wedding festival in the desert with our friends and family. We even found a company with canvas tents to sleep everyone, and another company to loan us a stage for Chris’ pacific northwest band The Lumbercats. I think the Fyre Festival dampened our dreams of building a weekend wedding festival, and we went back to the drawing board.
But I wasn’t done with my idea just yet. We met up with Michelle (@michelleallen.photo) and Emily (@emilyvandeheyphotography), two incredible photographers and instant friends. The four of us dreamed up a Coachella-inspired elopement and Chris and I got to play pretend our dream wedding—even the part where you pick cactus bristles out of a wedding dress for an hour.
Whenever Chris and I do photoshoots together, he always whispers cute corny things in my ear to get me laugh on camera.
“Wouldn’t we look cute on a wedding cake together?”
“I bet that dress would look good off of you.”
“I’m not the photographer, but I can picture us together forever.”
So now when you see the pictures of me cracking up, you know he’s being corny behind the lens.

P.S. This dress has a story! One of my best friends found it at Lulus and wore it to our real life engagement party, featured in Brides. She passed it on to me and it’s been re-used for this Coachella styled shoot!
